Oh wow, I can definitely see why it means that much to you in terms of expressivity.
I find it incredible that there's SO much emotion in it, even though we can't even see his face properly, but I really think that the angle makes this photo.
I do kind of wonder how it would've been when taken from a little bit more front, perhaps it would have made the mouth a little bit different, maybe better vissible, but maybe less interesting too. Or maybe to make his other hand visible too.
These contrasts work really well with the entire vibe of the photo,
and the blurriness / movement of the guitar just makes it all complete.
I can realy imagine the music (even though I didn't have an idea what kind of music, but I just looked it up).
Oh! And it also works really well that his bracelets reflect light, so his arm isn't completely black.
